Katharine and Christine

2018

Working with the charity Heart Valve Voice alongside the Royal Photographic Society I was introduced to identical twin sisters Katharine and Christine Greenland, who were both diagnosed with Heart Valve Disease within just 4 months of each other and on both instances by a chance finding.

Katharine and Christine live a quiet and peaceful life together in a beautiful countryside village along the East Coast of England and keep themselves busier than most within their local community. The series documents their shared experience of the disease and the exceedingly active lives they both live post-treatment, both lives telling of their remarkable story in support and resilience.

The work went on to become part of a wider project by Heart Valve Voice titled Patient Portraits and was exhibited first at Portcullis House, London and then throughout hospitals within the United Kingdom.

Katharine and Christine consists of 8 photographs.
